On the afternoon of Thursday, March 12th the high school left for FACCS State Fine Arts Competition in Jacksonville, Florida. Everyone had fun playing games, sleeping, and being very noisy on the bus! After eating dinner, we went out to the bus and found that we had a flat tire. While waiting for repairs to be made, we entertained ourselves in the parking lot of the mall in any way possible. We spent the night in a Jacksonville hotel and arrived at competition on Friday morning at 8:00 AM. Art and science projects were set up, and the choir and Kristel Miley performed their musical pieces. After lunch, we attended the awards ceremony where we placed in every event we entered! The choir placed third, and Kristel placed first in the female vocal solo category. Samuel Bozone placed second in color photography. Janessa Beardslee and Julianna Bozone placed second and third respectively with their science entries. Letha Barr placed first in sculpture. We all had a great time, but by the time we got back to the bus, we were excited to go home!
