This year’s annual Walkathon was a big success with approximately $17,000 being raised – and the added element of color made the event a memorable one! Students began the morning with the announcement of the class that had raised the most money. Congratulations to Ms. Armstrong and her sixth grade students for all their efforts bringing in funds for this year’s Walkathon!
Following a march to the event site, the walking began! As the students walked, they were doused with colored powder by throwers dotting the trail. After only a few laps, the walkers were colored with shades of blue, green, orange, and pink. It was hard to tell who was enjoying themselves more – the colorful students or the teachers throwing the powder! The event officially ended with students gathering and throwing handfuls of powder into the air to create a “color cloud.” Dismissal followed lunch with students leaving trails of colored dust as they departed…
It’s not too late to make a donation or pay your pledge! Contributions can be made here – make sure you note that the money is to be applied to Walkathon.
Thank you for partnering with us as we “train up children in the way they should go!”
